Abnormalities: Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (MR-04)

This is a case of hypoplastic left heart syndrome at approximately 28 weeks of gestation.
 
The video clip corresponds to a 4-chamber view with (right hand panel) and without (left hand panel) colour flow mapping. The four chamber view is highly abnormal and shows a small left ventricular cavity with endocardial hyperechogenicity. The mitral valve is patent but minuturised. The right ventricle is dominant and forms the cardiac apex. There is reversal of flow across the foramen ovale.
